MERIDEN - Contractors are repaving several thousand feet of roadway throughout the city as part of the city's annual road improvement effort.

Estimated at a cost of $700,000, the project involves repaving sections of road on Tennyson Road, North Third Street, Colony Place, New Hanover Street, Bradley Avenue, Camp Street, North Wall Street, Ames Street and Galoppi Road, said Public Works Director Bob Bass. The repaving project will eliminate potholes and create smooth new road surfaces, Bass said.

The contractor hopes to be finished with the project by mid-November.
