MERIDEN - A New Haven man has been arrested in connection with a string of car burglaries that took place in the city earlier this year.

Police arrested Robert LaPointe, 22, of 830 Grand Ave. in New Haven, on Monday afternoon in connection with at least three different burglaries that took place during late June and early July. He bonded out after his arrest Monday and is due for arraignment in Meriden Superior Court in two weeks.

LaPointe will face charges including three counts of third-degree burglary, sixth-degree larceny, fifth-degree larceny, third-degree larceny and conspiracy charges on all counts.

The arrest stems from an investigation that was initiated when LaPointe and a second man, Daniel Brewster, were found in possession of several items that had been stolen from cars along Allen Avenue on July 8. Police said both men could face additional charges in the case.
